2. When did art become part of your life?
Art has been a part of my life since childhood.
3. How long have you been making art?
From childhood, I was attracted to art. After completing my basic education, I completed my bachelor's and master's in fine arts in 2016, and after that art became my life.
4. What shows that the art scene has evolved over the last few years?
Nowadays art is shown in different ways such as virtually; especially at the time the pandemic started, it was very pronounced. More than ever we had the opportunity to connect with galleries, and take part exhibiting in all over the world.
5. Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
Currently, I am working on the project titled - “the world's biggest womb – Nature”. Nature means not only our surroundings, it relates to our behavior too.
6. Where do you do your work?
I am currently living & working in Delhi NCR (India).
7. Do you work from life, from photographs, or from imagination?
My work concept is from nature and the way of presentation is from an imagination that makes my work unique.
8. What technique (applicable for art) do you use?
I love to use watercolor on paper mostly. But, these days, I am playing in mixed media on paper and canvas too.
9. What is the role of the designer/artist in society?
I think an artist has the best opportunity to give a message through the paintings while people are enjoying it.

I completed my bachelor of fine arts from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University, MP (2010-14), Master’s in fine arts from same university (2014-16).

Abstract

The best thing about being an artist is the freedom to express myself.
13. What's the worst thing about being an artist?
The worst thing about being an artist is that usually, our work is more appreciated after death.

It is very interesting to take some different views, different observations.

Nature and relation between each and every beings inspires me a lot.

Well, personally, I feel artists create work that reminds us of the past, show us what's currently happening now, and shows us what the future can/will be.

pandemic started it was very pronounced. More than ever we had the opportunity to
connect with galleries, and take part exhibiting in all over the world beside the
general public.
Do you have a particular artist whose work you admire of?
In the beginning I was influenced by Rembrandt and Claude Monet, but now I do not
have one in particular, there are many wonderful artists from all over the world who
display their work, and a good work is always a big impetus for an artist.
Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
I am currently working on a painting series called “Women’s World” a dedication to
women expressing the world of her, starting from beauty and spanning the soul,
fashion, shapes, power, profession, courage, passion, motherhood, figuration,
overthinking, responsibilities, simplicity, sensuality, confidence in herself, etc.
Her figuration is so beautifully created, but still often prejudiced.
The message of these paintings is to feel good and colorful inside of herself no
matter what others think - above all the inner beauty matters. With this series, I want
to show that women are superior!
Women must believe in the potential they possess!
Where do you do your work?
I like to work on my living room and usually all the cute mess is there.
Do you work from life, from photographs or from imagination?
My art is like a mosaic of all but usually I work from my imagination because is very
important to show the inside energy and the individuality in the unique way.
What technique (applicable for art/design/photography) do you use?
During art work I really like to experiment and I think that over the years my periods
have been divided into different techniques, for example during my studies my
favorites have been oil paints, while I have a large number of works with the
watercolor technique and now there is a time that last 3 cycles are developed with
acrylics.
What is the role of the designer/artist in society?
I think an artist have the best opportunity to give a message through the paintings
while people are enjoying it.
Is there a purpose to your design/artwork?
My goal is that when someone sees my art to feel better and find themselves in these
artworks, also my art always conveys a message.
Where did you study?
I earned Bachelor and Master is degree from University of Prishtina – Kosovo (2015
and 2018).
What would you call your style?
My work is an abstract art with a colorful world that express a different dynamic
emotions.
What is the best thing about being a artist?
The best thing of being an artist is that you can show your momentary emotions.
What is the worst thing about being a artist?
The worst thing of being an artist is that usually our work is more appreciated after
the death. People forget that Art is not just a passion but it is a profession too that
needs to invest on it.
How do you feel when people interpret your design/artwork differently?
This happed often on abstract paintings and when I create I express myself but this
does not mean that the others will see in the same way like me, anyway I feel very
good that most of the time visitors have been able to take the good energy through
colors even if they do not understood correctly my creation.
How do you feel after you finished or while you are designing/painting?
While I’m working is a great feeling putting together the idea with all the combinations
of colors. My process of a painting goes through 4 to 5 phases and the final moment
when you have managed to unfold all these ideas together as you imagined is a
miracle.
What you draw/paint/design, is it part of your personality?
I don’t want to do just a painting so I try to choose carefully what to express on my
canvas and being focused on the strong message so yes in my paintings are part my
personality for sure.
Who or what inspires you?
I get inspired from a lot of things as music, travelling, nature, books, photography,
sand while I am seeing a good art in social media.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
Start the art if you want to heal the soul by transferring your emotions to the canvas,
creating your own world through colors.

When did art/design/photography become part of your life?
My art became part of my daily life right after I finished my Bachelor of Arts studies. Although in previous times I was making art, I consider that when I was facing the end of my study period and accessing a constant search for the development of my profession, it was necessary to establish art within my daily routine, and above all the importance of being constant in my work.
How long have you been making art?
I would speak of ten years ago when I started my art studies. Although since my childhood I had been doing some works that allude to some condition of art, the period of studies I establish as my beginning stage to making art, since from this moment I consciously determined that my profession would be from the production of artistic works.
Do you have a particular artist whose work you admire of?
I admire many artists. My interests in the work of other artists range from the solutions of Byzantine art (through representations where the flatness and ruggedness of the bodies are remarkable through their shape contour) o the approaches where the optical conditions are decisive in the construction of the paintings (speaking of the Renaissance). But thinking of contemporary artists, I admire the work of Francis Bacon, Mark Tansey, Stephen Bush, Rafael Canogar, Lizzie Gill, Phyllida Barlow. Also among the contemporary artists that I admire are undoubtedly my colleagues/friends painters
Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
The series that I am currently working with, I have titled 'Archeologies of the environment', is a series of oil paintings that have emerged since 2014 and continues in my current work. In this, I explore the analogies and dialectics existing in the environment that promote the conjunction of nature and urban devices in everyday life. Through a visual archeology that is based on the interpretation and proposal of intersection signals in spaces, humans, stories, ruin, and landscape; through the use of pictorial values as descriptive and schematic levels of representation, rhythm, and color. To be alternative landscapes, mediated by the imagination, that imitate the future of the individual in the face of the daily illusion that everyone faces.

My studio is based in Mexico City
Do you work from life, from photographs or from imagination?
I work with the support of images (exhumed, from archive or own photographs), to which, I reassign or add interests that are mediated from the imagination
What technique (applicable for art/design/photography) do you use?
Painting, and particularly I use to painting oil on canvas
Is there a purpose to your design/artwork?
To be an instrument that makes possible a different look at reality, to "contemplate" it, under a different staging; that arises from the impulse to confront my/our immediate surroundings.
Where did you study?
I earned my MFA and my BFA in Visual Arts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico
What would you call your style?
I think of my painting to be inserted within the current problems of painting. In this case, my painting aims to respond to contemporaneity (if there is any) in painting
What's the best thing about being a artist?
I love the process to make a painting because sometimes it becomes a long time, in which there is a high level of reflection and decision-making. Not only about the work in progress but about personal conditions or general thoughts.
What's the worst thing about being a artist?
The worst thing about being an artist is that there are periods of great uncertainty. Not only in terms of talking about capital compensation but also about uncertainty at the end of a painting and not knowing where the next work is going. Also, being a practice that is incorporated into daily life and that occupies most of the artist's time, there are conditions such as learning, going to visit places, events between friends or family that are postponed, because there must be a daily routine and constancy in art
How do you feel when people interpret your design/artwork differently?
It is very interesting to listen to the interpretations of the spectators for my work because, without a doubt, every observation motivates me or questions me on my practice
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
Enjoy the process of production and learning of art, as well as to assume oneself as an artist, with all that this implies: to be art a priority, a routine that is incorporated into our daily lives, a constant process of learning and risks

I started to draw in early childhood. My first exhebition was ,when I was in a children daycare.
And since that time I always draw and paint. I also graduate the State Moskow University of Industrial Art,named after Stroganov.

I have many favourite artists, but there are the most favourite from contemporary art : Slava Fokk, Anna Berezovskaya, Jose Louis Cenna, Kseniya Lavrova, Andrey Remnev and Tanita Veranes.
Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
When I make my art, I use all, that is available : nature, real people, photographs, and, of course, my imagination. Sometimes I see my objects in a dream.

I usually work at home, so I can work any time of day or night.

- I am curious, purposeful, I like to work alone, and spend my leisure time with loved relatives ,friends and pets.
When did art/design/photography become part of your life?
- As far back as I can remember, I have always painted. Therefore, painting became a part of my life as I became aware of myself.
How long have you been making art?
- My mother sent me to the artist's studio for painting and drawing when I was 4. Since then I have been doing fine arts.
What shows that the art scene has evolved over the last few years?
- It seems that the changes in the art scene exist because of the Internet, borders are blurred; people can communicate and exchange thoughts, feelings, regardless of location. Culture is becoming global, and the art scene is becoming global.
Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
- My favourite theme in creativity: the relationship of people and the relationship of people with their pets. And now I am making four projects in parallel. The first one is called “Salvation in Art” - it is 7 canvases about the main and more common arts. In my opinion, art heals, and through art and creativity, all dreams can come true. The second project is called "Winnie the Pooh and everyone" - these are 4 large canvases - I paint them in honor of my friend, whose image looks like a good-natured honest strong bear. The third project is called "Mia is my Chihuahua dog" - a project in which paintings are constantly born under the inspiration of my beautiful dog. The fourth project is called "Arnold Schwarzenegger and his pony and donkey" - this project is about my impressions of the news about the modern life of Arnold Schwarzenegger with his pets, a donkey and ponies, who all live in the same house. I think this is funny and cute.

Where were you born? Write a little about your character.I was born in Kendrapada district of Odisha.
I am now practicing my painting in Delhi as a painter. I prefer to live a simple life, I spend most of my time practicing art.
When did art/design/photography become part of your life?
As a child, I was fascinated by art, from the time my mother painted on the walls of our house. My father was a history teacher, my father always did and talks about history, and then I became more interested in art. When I started studying at Art college, I became more interested in art after seeing the Patta paintings and temples in Odisha.
How long have you been making art?
I finished my bachelor's degree in Odisha in 2012 and my masters in Delhi in 2015, the last five years I have been practicing my art.
Do you have a particular artist whose work you admire of?
Not a one particular artist, I'm mostly influenced Indian traditional art, like miniature painting (Orisan Patta Paintings) and I have attracted towards people, ideas and concepts that provide an alternate way of understanding life around me.
Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on?
My currently practice is vastly influenced and marked by my shift from Odisha to Delhi and personal
encounter with the ever- changing landscape, evident in my recording of minute details – both real and
imagined. Fusing stylistic elements drawn from miniature paintings and the traditional Patta paintings
(Indian traditional painting). The idea portrayed the value of image reading and sense of diversity between
Machine and urban picture. In the painting it gives the scene of manmade clouds and deserves the costume of urban.
Where do you do your work?
I have my art practice Delhi and now my current studio located at the Kaladham Society in Greater Noida, UP.
Do you work from life, from photographs or from imagination?
In my research I intend to identify local people in city so I would like to visit local place, I take some
photographs and some images from the net as reference and some from my life experience from
imagination then I compose my artwork.
What technique (applicable for art/design/photography) do you use?
Watercolors as a medium are most important for me because I find it very effective and playful. Currently I am exploring the unique ways to articulate the beauty and spiritual essence of this medium. I have been working with watercolors for ten long years, which have created a great interest in me to play with it.

The artist is like a mirror of society, seeing what is happening in society through his art. Good things in
society reach out to people and make people aware, through art we can learn about our past. Through his painting, an artist informs people about the future and the present.

An artist must first know himself. How to find out about your art culture and how artists can bring
awareness to society through their art.

I do not think there is anything wrong with being an artist, sometimes you have to work hard to make
money, but this is life. I think that if an artist dedicates his life to his art, he will have absolute success.
How do you feel when people interpret your design/artwork differently?
Sometimes it seems to me that art has no language, as if a person sees my painting and associates his
lifestyle with that painting. I love it so much people see different art and tell different stories and if I find out too much I will try to bring it to my next work.
How do you feel after you finished or while you are designing/painting?
I get a lot of pleasure when I start my painting with a subject, when the work begins with a lot of subject
matter and color takes on a shape, so I get a lot of pleasure from watching detailing. When the painting is finished, I feel very happy and try to figure out how to do the next thing better.

Yes my art is a part of my personality, every work I do, my personal life, is connected with my past and
present. I do everything I do with my life experience and present situation.
Who or what inspires you?
I have influences Orissan Patta painter and a long list of ideas and concepts as an artist, artisan, writer and movies.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
As an artist, I would say, first of all, you love your art, you have to know what you can do, develop what you can do and dedicate yourself to art, and you will be successful one day.

My name is Emily Shih. I am an self-taught artist who lives in Taiwan. I work primarily in
acrylic and watercolor. My artwork has been shown in exhibitions in Taiwan, New York, South
Korea, South America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
When did art become part of your life? / How long have you been making art?
I fell in love with creating art at an early age and has never stopped in the pursuit of this passion.
I started to paint in 2009 and I have been painting for 11 years.
Do you have a particular artist whose work you admire of?
Paul Cezanne's artistic concept has a great influence on my work.
He pays great attention to the volume of the objects and the depth of the images. For this reason,
he gave up the linear perspective method. This volume is not expressed by lines, but by the
color blocks freely combined by the author. I personally admire Cezanne's works and his art
practice and persistence in art.
Do you work from life, from photographs or from imagination?
Most of my works are depicting natural landscapes, such as sunsets, mountains and rivers,
reflections of water, places I have travelled and places I want to go. In addition, I like the
themes of positivity, optimism and joy. I want people to look at my artworks and feel the same
thing that I do - peace, happiness, joy and always believing in something good.
What technique (applicable for art) do you use?
I use the color block composition to paint because I feel that using this method can make the
image present a good 3D effect, and the flat color block has more tension than the traditional
realistic painting. Such color blocks are like a large piece of rough-cut colored paper, layer by
layer to create depth of field and 3D effect. This silhouette style is very attractive to me and can
give people more reverie and fun. I think flat coating without shadows can bring a sense of
volume, and bright colors have a decorative effect.
Before I paint, I use image processing software to segment the image, and then I arrange the
geometric shapes and various hue blocks alternatively and simplify the details of the scenery. In
the process of painting, I will adjust the shape and color to make the picture present a
harmonious effect. I would like to show the spatial extensity, rhythm and the impressionism
with the colors, and furthermore I hope to construct new imagery and resonance visually.
What is the role of the artist in society?
In times of uncertainty, art is more than beauty or decoration — it's a tool. Art can heal and
bring us together even when we're apart. I hope my role as an artist is to inspire, connect, and
collaborate.
How do you feel when people interpret your artwork differently?
I think art is subjective, so everyone's feelings and preferences for art vary from person to
person. I hope that people can feel peace, harmony and joy when they look at my paintings, but
if they have different feelings and interpretations, I can accept it, because it may bring me new
inspiration.
How do you feel after you finished or while you are painting?
For me, art is about falling in love with something, it’s about the feelings it conjures up inside
you. Since I started painting, I have been very interested in it, because it can bring me strength,
calm, moving and sense of achievement.
Who or what inspires you?
My artworks are inspired by nature's beauty. I love using rich and vivid color on painting. By
piling up different shapes of hue blocks, I transform the realist world into a bright and splendid
world of my own. This is how I praise nature, and a way of self-expression.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
Continuous creation! To give yourself more opportunity to increase the chance of exposure and
try new things. In addition to enriching your own inner, setting a goal for yourself is also very
important!
The path of an artist is not easy and lonely, but it is your choice. Many people give up and quit
in the middle of the road, and many people's dreams are killed in reality before they start. So put
your mind, stick to it, and don't forget the original intention. I think this is the mentality that you
must have as an artist!
What I can say and what I take as advice for myself is Stay true to yourself.
Never forget why you started, and your mission can be accomplished.

Clara Aden
Elizabeth Omolara Adenugba also known as Clara Aden is a professional studio artist, an illustrator, story board and urban artist. She has been illustrating professionally since 1999 and eventually earned her spot as Assistant Production Manager and Art illustrator, Hearts magazine. She attended Federal Technical College Yaba. She is one of the representatives of the Alumni of Hamazon ACADEMIA at the German Green Me Global film festival 2016, with the experimental short film titled "Ripple" which celebrates the theme of the festival "Ocean, Water and Life." Clara Aden is the Vice President of Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FEAAN), President, Beyond borders Artists Association of Nigeria (BBAAN)
She has won awards in several competitions, including at the 1999 UNFPA International poster contest (third place), Art for Fela Anikulapo-kuti 2007, Olokun festival foundation art competition (2007) and was listed among the five best visual artists at National Patroit Portraiture and Immortalisation awards (2010). She is the winner of the Global Network Research development(GNRD) freedom of expression 2015 art competition in Norway. 2nd place winner Buddy bear design 2016 art competition organised by German Embassy Abuja.

A one week intensive experimental residency project curated by Nigerian German curator Emeka Udemba. Her drawing installation addresses the issue of the impact of climate change on the environment with focus on Lagos city and its inhabitants.
